Welcome to the first edition of our Ade Bakare newsletter. The main topic is the creation of a new,bridal collection for 2025/26.wedding dresses have always been integral to the Ade Bakare couture label ,having won competitions in fashion school in Manchester ,uk while at design school ,to designing lots of wedding dresses over the decades for customers in the uk ,Nigeria and around the world , over the decades .we took a break from designing bridals to concentrate on our ready to wear lines ,but now we are working on a new modern bridal collection ,As with most ranges we start with fabric sourcing .which is crucial since they determine the styles one would design .this brought me to dubai and the fabrics on display are captivating,am already inspired .since it’s going to be a modern line certain fabrics appeal there”s a tendency to opt for glitzy sequinned fabrics with lots of sparkle ,we are toning it down with beautiful intricate fabrics ie organzas with flower details ,shimmer can still be attained with lots of hand embellishments such as pearls,Swarovski crystals and beagle beads .there will be lots of romantic ball gowns and fitted corset dress with trails for that grand entrance .well,am still in dubai fabric sourcing let’s see what more exquisite finds there are.
